Following on from the phenomenal success of our Higher Self candle and to celebrate Mary's feast day on 22nd July, we are very excited to bring you this amazing new Mary Magdalene version.
Complementing our Mary Magdalene Divine Feminine Spray, this natural soya wax candle contains the same essential oils of tuberose, patchouli, benzoin, ylang ylang, rose and jasmine as we put into the spray. As with the Higher Self candle, these essential oils are the pure, undiluted versions and the gorgeous aroma of this candle bears witness to that.
This candle is double wicked, with a peach moonstone on top. The double wick was necessary with this particular blend of oils so the candle burns evenly.
Peach moonstone seemed the perfect choice for this candle. Moonstone has long been the stone of love, fertility, intuition, magic and spiritual purity. Moonstone calms and encourages as it opens the heart to empathy and assists in the acceptance of love.
Moonstone is said to increase our sensitivity to the Divine Feminine, to heighten intuition, and to open us up to our psychic gifts. It is a stone of protection for women and children, especially pregnant women and babies. It has been used for centuries to enhance fertility and is believed to support women's reproductive health all around, from easing menstrual problems to soothing fluctuating hormones, to assisting a woman in childbirth.
Considered a stone of the goddess, Moonstone is associated with the moon, the tides, femininity, and the subconscious. It helps sync the rhythms of lunar energy to the rhythms of a woman’s body. Moonstone helps men become more in-tune with the feminine aspects of their nature. It stimulates the right side of the brain to encourage non-linear thinking and emotional balance.
The candle comes in a substantial, rigid, two piece black box. This is wrapped in a cardboard sleeve, printed with a beautiful image of a tuberose flower and seashell on a beach (original painting by Jane Delaford Taylor). It includes a special message from Amanda on the back.
The candle is contained in a bespoke candle glass, specially commissioned by us to match our Mary Magdalene Spray - a stunning green and magenta pink combination.

To ensure you get the best out of your candle:
Trim the wicks to 5mm (1/4 inch) before lighting. Your candle will burn for up to 25% longer if you trim the wicks every couple of hours.
The first burn is the most important. Candles should burn one hour for every 1 inch in diameter of the actual candle size. For example, a candle that is 3 inches across should burn for 3 hours. If a candle is not burned for long enough to allow the wax to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring.” Once a candle has a “memory ring,” it will continue to "tunnel" for the life of the candle.
Burning a candle for too long will cause carbon to collect on the wick, leading it to “mushroom.” The wick will then become unstable and produce a dangerously large flame. Plus, your candle will start to smoke and release soot. Avoid this by always following the manufacturer’s instructions. In general, it is recommended that candles do not burn for longer than four hours and cool for at least two hours before relighting.
When burning a candle, avoid proximity to fans, air conditioners, open windows, or crowded areas with people walking back and forth. Moving air can disturb the flame, resulting in black marks on the glass.
Fragranced candles have a lifespan of 6 to 12 months depending on the fragrance, so do use them, enjoy them and not be tempted to save them only for special occasions!
